So What’s Next?
Today, we begin 2010. We begin a new decade. We begin the future of TRBC. And, most importantly, YOU begin your future. After all of the Christmas celebrations, the New Year’s celebrations, the resolutions, etc., what do we do now? So, what’s next? Today I want to give you a theme sentence. A mission statement really for the rest of your life. If you will follow this sentence, if you will live in this sentence, you will experience a greater future than you can possibly imagine. Here’s the sentence: In 2010 and beyond, I will be ACTING RIGHT, STANDING STRONG, STANDING TOGETHER, FEARING NOTHING and ENDURING ANYTHING WITH THE ULTIMATE GOAL IN MIND of bringing glory to God! That’s our mission statement from this day forward. It’s not our church mission statement...you all know that statement. This is our personal mission statement. You may have one of your own already, but if not, this is a good one to adopt. And, it comes right out of Scripture. Phil. 1:27 Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, 28 and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God. 29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, 30 having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me. 1. Acting Right 27a Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ
2. Standing Strong 27b ...that you stand fast in one spirit
3. Standing Together 27c ... with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel
4. Fearing Nothing 28 and not in any way terrified by your adversaries,
5. Enduring Anything 29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,
6. With The Ultimate Goal In Mind Phil 2:9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
