Angel Tree
Description
Angel Tree
Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning. The Salvation Army Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year. The initiative serves children and senior adults who have requested support from the Salvation Army to provide presents under their family Christmas tree. Salvation Army reviews each request and shares the need with communities throughout the nation.
For us at Thomas Road, this program provides the opportunity for our church to be the hands and feet of Jesus, providing new clothing and toys to “Angels” who may not have been able to get them otherwise. This year at our church has been entrusted with 250 Angels.
Get Involved!
Ready to serve Angels around our community? It’s easy. Starting November 22, stop by our Angel tree and grab an “Angel Tag”. Each tag represents a real person and their Christmas shopping list. After you’ve finished shopping, return your tag and presents to the Missions Team in the Thomas Road Lobby by December 6.
Want to get involved even further? We have three serving opportunities that we need your help with. Click the links below to sign up.
- Sunday Serve Team (Sunday morning time slots)
- Volunteer with Salvation Army—coming soon (12/1-12/17 at Salvation Army)
- Angel Tree Distribution Day (12/18 at Salvation Army)
Get ready to make a difference! If you’d like to learn more about the program, you can read additional details on the Salvation Army’s website, here.
Global Tree (OCC Item Collection)
In addition to our Angel Tree, we are collecting donations to help us pack additional OCC boxes. Our “Global Tree” is an opportunity to continue the spirit of generosity by donating items for a special church-wide OCC packing.
