First Timers

When You Arrive

We know that visiting a church for the first time can be an adventure. When you arrive for your first visit, follow our TV signage or ask one of our Host Team members to direct you to our Kids Check in area. Scan the QR code at our Check In area to enter your family information as well as any specific needs your child may have. Our Host Team will take time to get to know you and your family. We’ll ask about allergies, make sure we know what your child likes to be called, and if they have any special needs that will help your child be comfortable during their time with us. You and your child will receive a check-in sticker with a matching code to ensure your child is safely checked in and checked out at the end of services. You can rest assured that if there are any urgent issues, a volunteer will contact you so you are kept in the loop. A host team member will make sure you know exactly where to go and how to pick up your child at the end of the service.

What To Expect

Fun

What is the language of children? It changes by age group, by town, by school, by year. But we believe kids are engaged best through activity, adventure, fun, stories, and relationships.

Safety

Your child’s security is one of our highest values. All who serve with our kids have been interviewed, trained, and have passed a background check. Additionally, our hallways are monitored by trained security team members during our kids church services. Kids have consistent leaders and classmates so they can build trustworthy relationships where they are best able to learn about God’s Word. We use a secure system for check-in and check-out and have policies in place to protect the well-being of every child while they are in our care. In the event your child needs you at anytime, we will contact you with the number provided at check-in.

Partnership

Kids ministry is a partnership between the church and the home. We as the church are partners, not parents. We believe the church is called to love and support the family. That means nurturing and helping the faith of parents, kids, and students. We are passionate about coming alongside families to help disciple their children. We want you to know what your child is learning each week, so we strive to communicate our teaching to parents through weekly emails, social media, and discussion with our volunteers as you pick up your child.

Service

Our kids ministries are carried out each week by loving, dedicated volunteers who want to see the next generation come to faith in Christ and live out their faith in front of their family and friends. If you would like to help us carry out this vital mission, please consider joining one of our kids serving teams! To view opportunities, click here

It will look slightly different based on the ages of your kids, but here is what our goal is for Thomas Road Kids!

  • Scripture – Kids that value God’s Word and seek out His direction for their lives in the Bible.
  • Prayer – Kids that prioritize and spend time listening and talking to God.
  • Worship – Kids loving God with their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
  • Community – Kids that are invested in by a Life Group Leader and peers centered around God’s Word.
  • Serving – Kids using their spiritual gifts and abilities to serve others inside and outside the church.
  • SharingKids living out their faith in front of family and friends.

Simply stated, our goal is to see kids become passionate followers of Jesus Christ!
