Hosea 14:3: “In You the orphan finds mercy…”
Journey Home is a ministry of TRBC with the goal of impacting our world for Christ by meeting the needs of children and families. Embracing, equipping and supporting foster and adoptive families through their life journeys and encouraging the church to embrace the waiting child.
Perhaps God is leading your family to open your heart and home to a child through adoption or foster care. Or perhaps you would like to be a part of a support system that helps families in need; however God guides you, you can play a huge part in helping children experience God’s design of family.
Here you will find some of the resources and opportunities that exist for families who are fostering or adopting as well as opportunities to get involved serving in the ministry!
Supporting Adoptive and Fostering Families
Journey Home provides bi-monthly group meetings to encourage and equip adopting and fostering families. These meetings allow opportunities for family mentoring, networking, support, and training. To the following…
Generously Supporting Kids And Families In Transition.
It is always encouraging to have community with others. Journey Home hosts monthly gatherings of support and community for parents that either foster, have adopted, or are interested learning more about foster and adoption. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out our next meeting date and time.
Ways to Get Involved
When kids are placed in a new foster home, they need to know that they are loved and that they are safe. Our resource team helps connect families with resources to help best care for the children in their care. Journey Home has a local resource closet that accepts donations of clothes for any age, toys, diapers, wipes, and school supplies to help meet the needs of children in our area. You may have fostered or adopted children, or perhaps you just want to serve others, either way you can make an impact in the lives of kids and families through Journey Home.

Become A Foster or Adoptive Family
Our ultimate goal would be for families to prayerfully consider opening their hearts to children that are in need of a loving family. Our vision is to create new homes for the children that are in need of a home.
In our community there are hundreds of children in the foster care system and agencies are in need of loving homes. In fact, churches are where agencies often reach out to find temporary loving homes. The church has a life changing opportunity to show Christ’s love to families and kids in need.
How to Start:
- Pray if this is what God has for your family.
- Request information on fostering, email email@example.com.
- Consider meeting with a JourneyHome mentor family.
- Start the training and application process for fostering children.
The first step to adoption might be easier and closer than you might think! TRBC is closely connected to Family Life Services, a licensed, private, faith-based adoption agency that provides quality home study and post-placement services to Virginia Families pursuing any type of adoption.
Ephesians 1:3-6 is an incredible picture of the manner in which God adopted us into His family. God went so far and paid so much to adopt us. When we consider adopting a child, it is a journey of faith, an act that requires love, commitment, patience, and resources.
We understand that not all families will adopt or foster. We realize that many still want to help make a difference and you might feel that your next step is to invest financially to assist adoptive and fostering families. Financial gifts often make adoption possible for loving families. Your contributions are always welcomed and may be either donated to the general JourneyHome ministry to families or designated to funds specifically for foster and adoption.
