Serve Lynchburg is an annual community service event hosted by Liberty University, dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the Lynchburg area. On April 26th, Liberty University and Thomas Road Baptist Church will come together to serve the community by partnering with local organizations and meeting critical needs—all while sharing the love of Christ.
This year, volunteers will have the opportunity to serve in the following areas:
- Supporting Widows: Volunteers will assist with housework, landscaping, and cleaning to make the homes of widows in our community more comfortable and beautiful.

We will reach out with the specific location, so please check your email for updates. - Teal Bag Food Drive for Park View Community Mission: Volunteers will assist in collecting, sorting, and distributing food donations to support families in need through the Teal Bag Food Drive.
Where: Bruner Hall, Thomas Road Baptist Church
When: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Come together to provide food for the Park View Community Mission and help those in need. - Habitat for Humanity Home Building: Volunteers will help build homes in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, providing families with safe and affordable housing.
Where: TBD
When: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and complete a safety waiver in advance.
We will send more details and the exact location closer to the event. - Disaster Relief with God’s Pit Crew: Volunteers will assist God’s Pit Crew with tasks like cleaning equipment, organizing supplies, and moving materials to prepare for future disaster relief efforts.
Where: Bruner Hall, Thomas Road Baptist Church (Departure Point)
When: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
We will travel to Danville, VA for this project, so please arrive early to board the bus. - Partnering with World Help: Volunteers will serve alongside World Help, a Christian humanitarian organization, by supporting efforts that meet the physical and spiritual needs of those in impoverished communities.
Where: 1148 Corporate Park Dr., Forest, VA
When: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Beyond meeting physical needs, Serve Lynchburg is also about sharing the gospel and demonstrating Christ’s lovethrough action. Our mission is to serve others with compassion, kindness, and faith, pointing people to the hope found in Jesus.
