What We Do
What is needed the most after disaster strikes? Hope.
In the event of a natural, manmade, or personal disaster, we want to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our community, state, or nation. Reflecting His love and compassion through our hard work, encouraging attitudes, and continual prayer that many will be drawn to Him who saves and provides.
While the physical needs are immense, even more vital are the spiritual needs uncovered by the loss of one’s home, possessions, and loved ones.
The Ready Response Team from Thomas Road Baptist Church stands ready at a moment’s notice to go wherever needed to be used of God to meet the desperate physical and spiritual needs found in the most difficult of places.
Our vision is to have a team with the ability to serve locally, statewide, and nationally and that can work independently or partner with other relief organizations.
Team members will be trained and equipped to:
-
- Provide debris clearing from property damaged by tornados or strong winds
- Mud out flooded homes, schools and churches
- Feed displaced people and first responders
- Minor rebuild and repairs
- Join search and rescue teams to assist local law enforcement
- Support other relief organizations
