Care, Support & Recovery Groups

Care Groups – 13 week sessions

Our care groups are 13-week, video driven courses that utilize biblical, Christ-centered, church-initiated curriculum to help you find healing.  Our next session will begin on August 19th.  Groups meet on Mondays from 6:00pm-8:00pm. There is no cost to attend; workbooks cost $20 (payment arrangements can be made.)

Divorce Care

Unless you have been there, it’s hard to understand the hurt that comes from separation and divorce. DivorceCare groups are led by people who have been through divorce and successfully rebuilt their lives; they understand how you are feeling.

Divorce Care for Kids (DC4K)

Divorce Care for Kids helps children ages 5-12 heal from the hurt caused by the separation or divorce of their parents. This group begins on Monday, August 19th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in LCA room #120.

Single & Parenting

As a single parent, you face unique challenges. You deeply desire to do what’s best for your kids and you worry that you aren’t. This group begins on August 19th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in LCA room #241

The Caring Journey

The Caring Journey is our only Care group that meets year round.  They offer support to people who are caring for a loved one with Alzheimers, dementia, and other chronic/long term illnesses. Cost for enrollment and workbook is $10 (payment arrangements can be made). For additional details, please call 434-592-5630 or send us a message.

Discovering Hope

Discovering Hope is a group meeting to discover the positives in life together. An MS diagnosis doesn’t mean your life is over. If you find yourself on this unexpected path, join us as we support each other by walking together discovering HOPE.

Support & Recovery Groups – meet Year Round

Through Freedom Ministries, these groups meet each Monday night from 6 pm to 8 pm in the TRS Worship Space (formerly known as the PowerSource room). The first hour is a large group setting that offers a time of prayer and worship followed by a time of teaching on one of the 12 Christ-centered Steps to Healing. The second hour offers small group time, in private rooms, where specific group issues are discussed. There is no charge to attend and no need to pre-register; just show up. FREE childcare is provided for children 10 & under. For more information, call 434-592-5630 .

Codependency

Defined as a pattern of behavior in which you find yourself dependent on the approval of others for your self-worth and identity.

We have two, co-ed, Boundaries groups that will help you learn to identify the patterns of thinking, acting, and feeling to bring about change in your life.

Sexual Abuse (Women)

Shelter From The Storm is a group for women who are dealing with the issues associated with sexual abuse.

Affects of Infidelity

The Betrayed Heart group is for women who have been hurt by their husband’s betrayal through infidelity—including pornography and/or abuse.

Broken Father Relationships

Father Hunger is a group that explores and heals the wounds that have occurred by having an overly critical, distant or abusive father.

Moving Forward

Hope for families of LGBTQ+ loved ones. Group will begin in January 2024.

Recovery Groups

Chemical Dependency

Approximately one in every 10 Americans, over the age of 12, are addicted to alcohol or drugs. YOU are not alone in this battle.

Stepping Out in Faith is a co-ed, mutual help group that teaches the skills needed to overcome the issues of chemical dependency.

Pornography

42.7% of Internet users view pornography; between 6%-8% of Americans are addicted to sexual behaviors.

Every Man’s Battle is a group for men and No Stones is a group for women who are battling pornography and sexual addiction.

Depression/Anxiety

Feeling down or “blue” every so often is a common, human experience. For those who deal with severe or ongoing feelings of depression and anxiety, we offer Overcoming Heartache; a co-ed, mutual help, recovery group.
